Dear Mr. Rama

The author of this letter was a participant of the tragic January 21 demonstration. I felt I had to be there, in the boulevard, to vent my fury against corruption, unemployment and complete negligence the guys up there, on top, show toward the hoi polloi who barely scrape a living, while they have free pass to greedily steal as much as they want from the public funds.

Two thousand years ago the proudest boast was civis Romanus sum ["I am a Roman citizen"]. Today, in the world of freedom, the proudest boast is "Ich bin ein Berliner!"... All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin, and, therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words "Ich bin ein Berliner!"

It’s not official yet but reliable sources confirm it: Thomas Countryman, whose face and name are very known to the Albanian public, has left his position as Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and has been assigned to another position in the Department of State. Countryman was a well-affirmed expert of Balkan and could influence the political developments in Albania at any time. His persuasive eloquence was associated with an imposing personality.
