EU preliminary report: Forget the integration with Berisha as prime minister. Albanians are doomed as Integration Minister urges European Commission to blame Socialist Party.

Albania flunked again this year in its effort to become a candidate country for EU membership. The EU Commission’s preliminary progress report, published last night by Top Channel and scheduled to go public in October, lists a number of reasons that led to the refusal of Albania’s candidacy such as long-persisting political crisis, the 21 January demonstration deaths, elections irregularities, corruption, dependence of justice system, etc.

EU commission made the recommendations as it always does, but that are never really considered by the Albanian government.

This is the second time in a row that Albania misses the chance to obtain the candidacy for adhesion to EU, an unprecedented event in the practice of European integration.

The EU decision to refuse Albania the opportunity to become a candidate country is another brick in the wall of isolation that is being built around Albania by the European countries attributed to one single cause: the misgovernment of Premier Berisha, and augurs that it will be tough for Albania to ever obtain the candidacy as long as Berisha is prime minister.

But, this time EU Commission was very cautious in indentifying the culprits, firmly refusing the Albanian Minister of Integration, who unethically urged it to pin the blame on the opposition.
