Pas publikimit të librit Mein Kampf, vjen një publikim i dytë që provokon debat. Është fjala për librin Vargjet Satanike të Salman Rushdie-së. Botuesja Arlinda Dugaj e motivon këtë ‘çalltisje’ duke thënë se libri nuk fyen Islamin, por nuk kanë këtë mendim Ermir Gjinishi dhe Roald Hysa, i pari një veprimtar mysliman (kështu emërtohet nga shqiptarja.com), dhe i dyti përfaqësues i Forumit Mysliman.
“Ai është një libër që deformon të vërtetën islame. Në Shqipëri gjenden gjithmonë shkaqe që të bëhen debate apo diskutime që nuk janë të nevojshme për Shqipërinë, por ky është problemi i tyre. Natyrisht që botimi i këtij libri nuk do të ishte diçka pozitive. Ai është një libër krejtësisht provokativ”, bën Gjinishi kritikën e tij ndaj këtij publikimi. Por pak më poshtë e ashpërson qëndrimin. “Në botë ka pasur shumë reagime [në rrethana të tilla]. Nëse ju kujtohet, atëherë Irani, nxori edhe një çmim ekstra për kokën e Salman Rushdisë.”, thotë ai duke lënë të kuptohet se i mirëkupton këto reagime të pritshme.
Është më i shtruar qëndrimi i Roald Hysës, i cili, teksa shpreh mosmiratimin e publikimit të Vargjeve Satanike, edhe nuk i nxit reagimet ekstremiste, edhe distancohet nga reagime të tilla të mundshme. “Ne nuk jemi për reagime ekstreme. Ne thjesht reagojmë me fjalën. Ne nuk jemi as për djegie të librit, ne nuk jemi inkuizicioni që të djegim librat, por as normale nuk është. Të paktën unë kështu mendoj, por ndoshta mund të ketë edhe ndonjë person që mund të bëjë reagime ekstreme”, thotë ai.
